At regular intervals the Mobile Data Association conducts in depth market research using quantitative and qualitative techniques to explore how the UK’s business community is making use of mobile messaging technology for communication. This activity helps to generate a wider understanding of its role in the commercial world and also stimulates ideas for the development of new products and services to facilitate business communication generally.
For 2006 we are focusing attention on the SME sector which currently generates 48% of UK business employment and accounts for 4.088 million of a total of 4.1 million business enterprises in the UK.*
250 interviews have been conducted with small to medium sized enterprises in a variety of sectors. Respondents’ attitudes towards mobile messaging were extremely positive with 45% claiming that it offered considerable cost and time saving benefits for their own particular businesses. Heaviest users of mobile messaging were found in the construction, healthcare & social work, real estate and transport sectors.
During 2006 we will be unveiling all our market research findings together with a series of sector specific case studies. For further information click on the links below:-
